Why is my car shaking when idle?

There could be a few reasons why your car is shaking when idle. One reason could be that your engine mounts are damaged or worn out. This would cause the engine to move around more than it should, which would, in turn, cause the whole car to shake. Another possibility is that your tires are unbalanced. This means that they don't have the same amount of weight on each side, which can cause uneven wear and tear as well as occasionally shaking while driving. Finally, your car could be shaking because your brake pads are wearing down and need to be replaced. If this is the case, you'll probably also notice a squeaking noise when you apply the brakes. No matter what the reason is, it's always best to take your car to a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem.
